Manisha Sawhney, Ph.D.

Manisha Sawhney, Ph.D. is an Ohio licensed psychologist and independent contractor at Susan Weltner-Brunton, Ph.D. & Associates. Dr. Sawhney holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Delhi, New Delhi, India. She completed a postdoctoral clinical internship at a private practice in Bismarck, North Dakota and a postdoctoral fellowship at Mid-Ohio Psychological Services where she provided psychological diagnostic assessments and psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. Her special interests include treatment of behavioral disorders, mood disorders (eg., depression, bipolar), anxiety disorders, relationship difficulties and improving adjustment/coping skills. Dr. Sawhney’s clinical approaches are based on evidence-based care that is rooted in cognitive behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and other cognitive behavioral interventions to help clients learn how to cope and lead fulfilling lives.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Sawhney worked as a researcher with the Defence Institute of Psychological Research in New Delhi, where she specialized in stress management training for the military. For the past 13 years, Dr. Sawhney has worked in a variety of academic roles. She has taught childhood disorders, health psychology, developmental, and abnormal psychology, as well as statistics and research methods. During her academic career at the University of Mary in Bismarck, she directed the graduate research program and developed an online psychology program for the university. Dr. Sawhney is currently an associate faculty member at The Ohio State University and The University of Mary.
